Digital ink supply system :

Ink supply mechanism is most essential part to be concentrated while designing system on DOD inkjet technology.  The proper ink supply system helps to utilize cost of printhead in terms of - MAXIMUM PRINTHEAD LIFE, FAST SPEED AT PRODUCTION SITE TOO , to MAINTAIN PRINT QUALITY  BY MEETING REQUIREMENTS OF PRINTHEAD, TO SAVE THE INK COST & TROUBLE FREE OPERATION.  The high quality ink supply system is required for the follows:

  • To utilize full life of printhead : The printheads are very expensive part of wide format printers hence the under utilization of printhead's life, will effect the production cost. The cheap versions of printers upon sub-tank technology can hardly use upto 50% of head life. Hence actual effective cost of production using cheap (sub-tank technology) printers are considerably higher.

    In our digital ink supply system the constant flow of ink is maintained as per printhead manufacturers' recommendations.

  • High Production Speed : Our printer utilizes the maximum speed of printhead giving trouble free high printing speed at customers end also. Normally in sub-tank technology the high speed can be maintained for few weeks only. & in other words the high speed is only demo feature. In actual after few weeks the printhead starts clogging & drying on high speeds & later on it could not print fast even after excessive cleaning.

    In our system, the digital accuracy with spontaneous ink flow helps to utilize high speed printing with trouble free operations. This feature makes KVR Pixojet's project more viable then any other contemporary printer.

  • Scratchless Printing Quality : As defined above that the ink supply to the printhead is digital controlled, the printhead get the best possible working condition hence printing quality is also affected.

  • Saving ink cost & trouble: As in digital ink supply system the feeding is proper hence excessive vacuum cleaning / purging / solvent cleaning is not required frequently. hence saving production cost & giving higher production volume.

What is Digital Ink Supply Systems :

The relevance of ink supply system, which can meet the technical parameters DOD inkjet technology with user friendly features is almost ignored in most of the printers. currently printers are using either gravity control  sub-tank technology in which the customer faces the problem of less head-life & slow speed production after few weeks, This feature makes survival of printing company in current marketing scenario.

The other -ve pressure systems with big size compressors and vacuum ejectors to maintain the vacuum are mostly not user friendly.

In view of above , after extensive research in the field of pneumatic control, we have designed, Digitally controlled ink supply. In our system, spontaneous ink flow is maintained by digital control system - the printhead receives equivalent volume of ink as ejected within fractions of second.

 

 

 

Modular structure utilizing precise profiles.

Precise structure is most important part of any system, & if we consider wide formats then to maintained precision in micron level becomes challenge. the ignorance of this part by using conventional practice will adversely effect total life of system & starting of frequent problems sometimes may be in six months or in a year. hence its ignorance will add cost of printing company in form of spare part replacement.

High quality, feature-rich Electronics.

KVR has engineered a production-specification system to provide the conduit between the processed image data and the printhead. The USB removes the fundamental issues associated with electronics design, system compatibility and engineering resource availability.

KVR special Drive & control Electronics (DCE) System is a flexible to implement, & rigid to crashes &  solution designed. The USB DCE minimizes the resource of host computer and , the compact and robust electronics component can be controlled via a standard PC or laptop to enable quick and easy installation the machine at site.

Specially designed, wider L/M runner block for more precision.

The multiple or under-sized runner block are mostly the source of problem, when we are talking about minimum seven years life of printing system. as this is one of the most important mechanical component as a direct link between linear motion of printing carriage & performing nozzles of printhead. Hence cheap type of printers like many brands available will give vibrations or under grip, so the printers works 12-18months only & during its dying stage, its repair & breakdown cost equals the earning made during its young life. Hence the printing company feels shocked, this shock is becoming more & more severe with increasing competition. Where net margins are coming down.

Hence wider shape runner block is developed with support of Bosch Rexroth, who are world leaders in the field of linear motion guides.

This innovative design gives vibration-free and smooth carriage movement  & helps in achieving high printing speed with minimum wear & tear.

 

 

 

Panasonic Motion System. (Servo)

we selected word leading and widely accepted renowned technology of PANASONIC MOTION ACTUATOR (SERVO).

System features advanced gain control - which makes the system intelligent enough to handle & maintain accuracy & no vibrations.

Adaptive Notch filtering helps smooth operation while startup & stopping of carriage.

Damping control detects the machine vibrations & automatically reduces the it which is  specially required in starting & stopping of carriage.

Inrush current suppression prevents the circuit-breaker shutdown which is occurred due to high current flows on starting of moment. In some machines the circuit-breaker is used with very high rating due to this problem which is dangerous to the machines electronics & in case of accident the machine do not stop automatically which is dangerous to human life involved in accident.

Easily upgradeable : As the innovation grow with the time,  up gradations  of system is essential, It can be easily upgradeable with online downloadable script.
The problem with other board type drive system is that it cannot be upgraded on the customers site, hence manufacturer do not upgrade their systems on old machines.

High resolution closed loop positioning system ensures the nano-accuracy.

 

 

 

Precise speed reducers for long life with zero backlash couple.

we uses highly precise speed reducers in motion control line to ensure trouble free operation for many years any idea of saving cost as practice by cheap printers can never turn-up as actual production house printers. the  pulleys and belts still used in cheap brands as speed reducer gives less- life, less-stability and less accuracy,.

In higher version of technology the mechanical engineering provides solution in form of planetary gear heads. in our opinion it should be a essential parts of printers and it has  zero backlash connection. In this technology there is no pitch error giving accurate step of media movement. where as pitch error is permanent associate of pulleys and belts technology making it more inappropriate for our type of application where quality of print is first priority.

 

 

 

Specialized media motion system on rollers

The innovative design of media movement with simple design minimizes the complications. The rubber rollers used in our design for step movement media gives long term trouble free accuracy. It  helps in smooth movement of media while printing and there are no chances of slippage of media, sideway movement during long prints,

 The precise rubber rollers for step media movement is renowned technology widely accepted by all leading printer manufactures. The cheaper solution provided in some cheap models creates many problem in step calibration. For the normal medias it works but for thin films or thick media like canvas it could not work upto satisfaction mark.

Our precise rubber rollers helps to achieve high quality printing upon widest range of media, starting from thin film to heavy substrates like canvas along with trouble free quality operation.

By virtue of this rollers technology and other high quality components selection, we can achieve photographic quality upon vinyl's / other films and subsequently achieve high production speed for banner printing upon same printer.

 

 

Accurate media feeding

For long print operation which is first requirement of banner printing by accurate media feeding is essential, this can be achieved using perfect mechanism.

In our design we consider the problem of sticky media also, which does not opens easily. The specially designed unwinder unit ensures the proper media feeding to printline to get band-less printing.

The high quality rubber roller is used in this unit which helps uniform lay down of media before media going to printing bed. This feature eliminates chances of angular movement of media and formation of wavy media on printing bed.

 

 

 

Advanced color-matching technology

The color-matching is very common problem when looking at the 4 or 6 color solvent based inkjet systems.

The software we developed support the embedding of color-matching scripts in the printing file, which detects the input-profiles from the source either the embedded ICC or the monitor curves. So the great brilliant colors can be printed i.e. the gamut is very large. So the most of the shades can be achieved.

We create the scripts for our customers for special medias & ink (when upgraded) using the highest color-matching technology, & customers do not loose the order due to incompatibility of color outputs.

 

 

 

Adjustable take-up

By virtue of modular structure, we can provide user-friendly adjustable media take-up system. Most of the printer do not use it as print does not dry till take-up point. This problem becomes more severe during high resolution, backlit or special printing. The technology of contemporary printers suggest either to increasing number of fans or by putting heavy heater, which is a expense on maintenance part & electricity ( This feature really matters when working on UPS backup during power backup).

In view of this problem experienced by printers, we have deigned adjustable take-up, whose drying path can be adjusted within quickly as per requirement of & without any extra expense. Using this feature there are no chances of print loss happens by touching / mishandling wet print.

 

 

 

Automatic pressure purging

The electrical purging helps the printhead to not to dry when not in printing, but due to very low pressure on the nozzles as applied by electrical actuations the printhead gets dry. & service wash is required if the clogging gets mature. hence the printhead efficiency reduces. To make  printheads back as normal, it should be cleaned with solvent & Ultra-sonic waves. which is a very time-taking process and it also adversely effect life & performance of the printhead.

The inadequate air purging through syringe is also dangerous to the printhead pores, which is used in some cheap printers.

The orifice controlled automatic pressure purging is the best available technology to clean printhead in the very short time. we have used high precise & stable German components to systemize the unit.

As per our extensive study & experience - this automatic pressure purging is more effective/economical than solvent wash during start-up of the machine also.
